DO WE NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT?
A 25% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your wedding date. After this the remaining balance is due 28 days before the wedding.
WHY CHOOSE TWO FILMMAKERS?
Apart from giving you an extra 5-10 minutes of film to enjoy, being in two places at once gives us so much flexibility to get more of the good stuff; the last minute rush getting ready and the arrival of guests before the ceremony, reaction shots during the ceremony + speeches, guests mingling, activities, the venue + decor, we're all about the detail. Our aim is to help you to remember the bits you did see whilst offering you a glimpse of the bits you didn't.
Do you shoot film or digital?
All weddings are filmed digitally, using two small DSLR's and a handful of prime lenses. I do however own a lovely super 8mm camera, so if you love film as much as I do then I'll happily add some reels in to the mix. Let me know at the time of booking and I'll send you some up-to-date prices.
WILL WE MEET BEFORE THE BIG DAY?
If possible, I would love to meet with you a month or two before-hand. This is close enough for us to run through all the details once the schedule is in place, and is a great opportunity to get to know each other a little so we connect on the day. If a meeting isn't logistically possible then I'll give you a call or Skype and we can discuss it all from the comfort of your own sofa.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE WEDDING?
After the big day I will get to work on editing your films! I edit every wedding myself, and dedicate at least 30 hours to each one. All weddings are edited in the order they were filmed so the delivery date can vary depending on the time year, the number of hours covered, and the duration of your ceremony and speeches. Your film is therefore guaranteed within 6 months, but the average turnaround time is 16 weeks.
Will you include audio snippets from the ceremony or speeches within our trailer?
The films tend to take on a life of their own during the edit and I will use whichever story-telling technique lends it's self to each particular film, however as a rule I prefer not to rely too heavily on the speeches to form the basis of the narrative. I'm always open to ideas or requests though, so if this is something you're interested in please let me know and together we can work out if we're a good fit.
CAN WE CHOOSE OUR OWN MUSIC?
Of course! Music plays a huge role in the crafting of your film. I love that everybody's preferences are different, so after the wedding I will ask you to send me 5 or 6 tracks that are significant to you, and some of these will be included in your feature. If you would like your wedding trailer to appear in the public domain, then a licensed song must be used to avoid copyright infringement. I will take your preferences in to consideration when choosing one from the catalogue, and will pick one that I feel compliments the footage and reflects the overall vibe of the day.
